Private sale
In a private sale you handle everything yourself: valuation, listing, photographs, enquiries, test drives and the contractual process. The sale price can be higher, but you carry the time involved and the risk of uncertain buyer quality.
Direct sale to a dealer
A direct sale is the fastest route. You receive a concrete offer, the process is clearly defined and the amount is fixed. The price is usually below an optimally achieved private sale price, because the effort and the risk pass to the buyer.
Consignment sale
A consignment sale combines both approaches. You remain the owner, while a dealer takes over the marketing, the communication with interested buyers and the process in exchange for a commission agreed in advance. This route makes sense above all for vehicles that need a targeted approach.
What to pay attention to in any case
Whichever route you choose, complete documents make the sale considerably easier and create trust.
- Have the vehicle registration document and service booklet ready
- Collect repair and service records
- Document the equipment and optional extras
- Take meaningful photographs in daylight
- Communicate known defects openly
