Consignment sale or direct sale: which suits your vehicle?

Both routes are reputable and sensible, but they do not suit every vehicle and every situation.

    The essential difference

In a direct sale the vehicle changes owner immediately and the amount is fixed. In a consignment sale you remain the owner until a buyer is found. The proceeds can be higher, but the date of the sale is open.

    When a direct sale fits

A direct sale is usually the right choice when predictability comes first.

    • The vehicle should be handed over soon
    • A fixed amount matters more than the last bit of price optimisation
    • A replacement vehicle has already been decided

    When consignment fits

A consignment sale plays to its strengths where the right buyer has to be found.

    • The vehicle appeals to a particular group of buyers
    • Equipment, condition or history justify targeted marketing
    • You have time available but want to hand over the effort

    How we proceed

We review every vehicle individually and recommend the route that fits the situation. If a direct purchase delivers the better result for you, we say so just as clearly as in the opposite case.

Let us talk about your vehicle.

Whether purchase, consignment sale or a targeted search: we review your request personally and get back to you promptly.
